Confined Spaces: Breathing Apparatus User Training (BAU01)

Course Aim

This course is aimed at anyone working in environments where they may be in the presence of a harmful or oxygen deficient atmosphere that would require you to wear full respiratory protection.

This course is about safe set up and use of self -contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Users will have a full understanding of the equipment, how to check it is fit for use and the correct donning procedures.

Direct observation of using SCBA
Written test

Important

Important: Candidates will be required to prove they can achieve a face seal when using the Breathing Apparatus. In accordance with HSG53 “tightfitting RPE will only provide effective protection if the wearer is clean shaven”.
