Ladder Association: Ladder and Stepladder User (LALSU1)
Course Aim
This ladder safety user training course is aimed at people who use ladders and stepladders. The course will give the delegate the skills and knowledge for the correct pre-use selection and use of ladders and stepladders.
All courses will be delivered in English and delegates must be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course.
Delegates can attend our Training Academy in Sheffield or the course can be delivered in a suitable classroom at your normal place of work (subject to a risk assessment).
IMPORTANT: This course does not train you to be a competent ladder inspector. You must successfully complete a further Ladder and Stepladder Inspector training module.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Assess and determine when it is appropriate to use ladders & stepladders
- Correctly locate and safely use ladders & stepladders
- Visually inspect ladders & stepladders for damage before and after use
- Legislation and regulations affecting work at height
- Product standards and classifications for ladders & stepladders
- Hazards affecting the use of ladders & stepladders

- Written assessment

Important
This course does not train you to be a competent ladder inspector. You must successfully complete a further Ladder and Stepladder Inspector training module.
